What happened to Huellitas?
Huellitas was a puppy very loved by the students of the Technological Industrial and Services Baccalaureate Center 86 (CBTIS) of the municipality of Huauchinango, in town. The dog was a stray animal that walked around the facilities, so everyone knew it. However, the accused student, identified as Vanessa ‘N’He asked to adopt him.
The puppy, far from finding a family to take care of him, found a young woman who wanted to hurt him. The tragedy was known through the social networks of Vanessa ‘N’, who had published photos and videos torturing Huellitas and showing how he was murdered. These actions alarmed her contacts who confronted her about the damage she had caused to the animal and quickly notified the authorities.
What are the authorities doing in the case of Huellitas?
When the Huellitas case became known, the students reported the case to the Prosecutor’s Office to ask for justice and convict the person responsible. Likewise, they demanded a petition from the educational center where they requested the expulsion of the young woman, public apologies from the minor, her parents and authorities of the institution and reinforce the issues of animal care and respect.
On the other hand, the Governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomon Cespedes, demanded that the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) investigate the fact and apply the corresponding sanctions. According to the Penal Code, animal abuse is punishable by four years in prison and 8 in case of causing the animal’s death.
Likewise, President López Obrado announced at a press conference new measures to combat animal abuse.
“We will present an initiative to reform the article 4. We are going to start working because article 4 must also be modified in what has to do with pensions”, explained the Mexican ruler.
