At 50 years old, Marcelo was looking for a new start. He had just divorced his wife and, for the sake of his two children, he decided to move to an apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. However, he never imagined that among all his neighbors he would meet the ‘Peel’, the man who taught him that the love sometimes it is an act of bravery and resistance.
In interview with Infobae, Marcelo remembers that the relationship began as a simple friendship. At the time, he had no idea of his sexual preferences, but the growing trust between them led to certain feelings. “We told each other our sorrows, it was like the two of us used psychologists. I told him about work and my children, he didn’t have one because he had been married for a very short time, but he was still very connected to his ex-girlfriend, ”he recalled.
One night, when they were supposed to go out with several friends, they ended up being alone, at which point ‘Pela’ took the opportunity to confess what she felt and kissed him. “I did not see her coming and although I was upset – and I understood this later – perhaps what annoyed me the most is that I did not dislike her attitude,” she confessed.
For several weeks they did not speak to each other until Marcelo began to admit what he also felt, but which he denied out of fear. “I fell in love with you and I don’t care about a thing in the world. And if I have to wait for you all my life, I’ll wait for you, because I don’t want to lose you”, was the promise that his neighbor made him.
That is how he decided to give himself a chance and start his courtship in a low profile. Although her daughter did not react well to the news at first, meeting her partner earned her trust and affection. “They plotted against me and made my life impossible, we laughed all day,” she said.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they both decided to move in together until “Pela” fell ill and had to be isolated. After he recovered, they planned a trip in which they lived their love freely for the first time. As if it were an omen, a photo immortalized the unforgettable moment. Their last outing together.
About 24 hours after his escape, Marcelo received the call that would change his life. Between tears, his daughter told him that “Pela” had had a sudden heart attack and died in her arms.
For about a year, he secretly suffered at work, since none of his employers knew what his real bond with his neighbor was. Until one day this came to an end. “Guys, I just came out to my classmates. I can’t stop crying, ”he said in a message that went viral on social networks.
Marcelo decided to give himself a chance in love again and now he is dating Ariel, a man that ‘Pela’ assures him put in some way in his path.
