The man who spent $20,000 to prove the Earth is flat, but achieved the opposite

Although for centuries scholars like Pythagoras either Galileo Galilei have shown that the shape of our planet is spherical, there has always been a group of deniers who claim otherwise.

But, as ironic as it may seem, in 2018, the American YouTuber and flat earther Bob Knodel spent $20,000 on research to prove the Earth is flat; however, the results ended up expanding his false claims.

What was Bob Knodel’s experiment like?

This man and a recording team embarked on the production of “Behind the curve”, documentary for Netflix in which they put their essay into practice. In accordance with Daily Mail, the test involved the use of a camera to film through two fences with holes, which would be 5 kilometers apart. On the other side, a person would shine a flashlight into the technological device.

According to Knodel, if the camera filmed the light through the two holes, then it would prove that the Earth is flat, since there would be no angle of inclination. However, it did not turn out as expected, since the flash could not be caught. An awkward Bob only managed to mumble “interesting.”

Despite his failed attempt, this flat earther He tried to camouflage his results, assuring that these were “some kind of problem.” “Now, obviously, we are surprised. What we found is that when we turned on that gyroscope, we found that we were picking up a drift of 15 degrees per hour,” he noted.
