The young man asked the website for a job as a hit man in February, presented identification documents and a resume, in addition to “indicate that he was an expert marksman”, which earned him the nickname of “Reapers” in his time in the service and was “employed in the Air National Guard since July 2021,” according to the US attorney’s office.
In addition, for a month, the soldier continued to share his personal information on the page, such as his home address. “I am looking for a job, that pays well, related to my military experience (shoot and kill the marked target) so I can support my son along the way,” Garcia wrote in an email.
“What can I say, I enjoy doing what I do, so if I can find a similar job (like this one) put me on as a coach!” he added.
Eventually, an undercover FBI agent contacted Garcia and together they agreed to meet in person to explain the details of the job. The federal police agency affirms that the soldier agreed to kill a person for $5,000.
“Garcia met the undercover agent in a park and was given a ‘target package’ from a fictitious individual, which included photographs and other information about the subject who was to be killed,” the FBI said.
After accepting the terms of the contract, the young man asked the FBI agent if he needed to provide him with a photograph of the corpse of the person who would die. At that moment, the soldier was arrested by FBI agents, who searched his home and found a rifle.
This soldier is currently charged with “using facilities of interstate commerce in the commission of murder for hire.” In case he is found guilty, Garcia could spend up to 10 years in prison. The FBI investigation continues.
