In the midst of university strikes that have been taking place in Uruguay since last Tuesday the 4th, demanding a larger budget for accountability, a professor quoted his students in a bar in Montevideo in order to give them an exam.
It was through an email that the Law professor communicated this decision to one of his students. “Dear Sofia, we keep the date of the part. What we will do is change the place. It will be on the top floor of Bar Las Palmas (18th and Gaboto) ”, she specified in the message.
He also clarified that the students had to consume something from the restaurant in order to stay in the establishment. ”The condition is that we all order at least one coffee. If someone can’t pay for the coffee, he tells me and I pay for it,” she wrote. Later, he explained that this was the ‘price’ to do the partial at that point.
Finally, he pointed out that they would not reach the tables and gave a suggestion to take the test. “As there are many of us for that space, there will be chairs, but no tables, so I recommend you bring a small board to be able to write,” she added.
However, from the Association of Teachers of the University of the Republic (ADUR) they declared to the local media El PaÃs that they discovered the professor and quickly annulled the practice.
